What is Mediation ?

Mediation is a voluntary form of conflict resolution based on the belief that everyone can take responsibility for their actions and has the ability to resolve disputes positively with the support of a neutral third party.


This course can either be taught to groups of young people allowing them to be peer mediators or as staff training to allow staff to train young people in your own enviroments.


As a process, mediation encourages people to find non-violent alternatives to conflict.
It is concerned with finding a way forward that is most likely to bring about reconciliation
or resolution acceptable to both. The mediator guides the disputants to a solution which
is identified, chosen and agreed by them. A structured process enables disputants to :
